This is What It’s Like - Introduction

This is a body of work made out of my things. Current things and things liked. Commonplace words, and materials, and things. This is what it’s like, this is what I like, this is what I’m like. Six little groups, each starting at one piece and turning into four. Six times four. Each four pieces noticed into a set of words as well.  Six times four plus one. My six headliners. Grouping the sparks. But this is what it’s like. And this is what it’s like.

So what is it like? It is sketching my things, and then sketching the sketches. Lining them up into rows of my felt. I like spending too much time with things. To notice these sparks and sit with them. Playing spot the difference with what was there before and after. Little transmissions on six important things. Some that come stitched, some that come otherwise. They go in an unfolding order, the start is the start and it gets bigger. This is what it’s like.
